Smaller Than Life
Living large is an ever growing ideology in our society. Sometimes, it is relieving to be reminded how small we really are.
The mountains that stand tall, against time, weather, and battery. The ocean that roars with life, against time, pollution, and population. The wind that howls eternally, against time, obstacles, and resistance. I look upon those wonders, these declarations of love and strength, and I feel blissfully small. Here these gifts are, ever present and persevering. And it is all I can do, not to stay there evermore, in a state of awe and gratitude. It is well and good enough to live fully, to live loudly and with pride. It may be even better, to live quietly and with peace. Not less fully, but differently. To take the time, for the peaks and falling leaves, the waves and gentle breezes. To live so small, allows the room in our souls, for natural blessings, so, so big.
